Rickmaniac on the loose

Bento # 350 Hello Kitty-shaped egg. Oblong cherry tomatoes. Kitty-shaped melon bits. Fried mixed vegetables. Fish sticks in bits.

I know the actual article is most likely illegible for most of you but I MUST brag for a moment:
See, I was contacted by the local newspaper here in my city today, they'd seen my bento blog (I keep a small bento blog in danish, too) and they wanted to do an article about my bentos!

Gah! Tomorrow is my first day as a fully trained train conductor. I've had the weekend off, and by chance, my regular days off were monday and tuesday (or.. actually they were tuesday and wednesday but I got that changed around to get a nice long weekend)

But tomorrow is the day of reality! Tomorrow I'm out in the trains with no safety net! This time, I can't excuse myself with "being in training" - this time, I'm supposed to know everything and be able to do anything. GAH!

So, to soothe my nerves, I spent some of the evening making a nice bento for the little kid.

Kitty Goodness Mini meatballs on skewers on a bed of lightly steamed spinach with oyster sayce. Banana flowers drizzled with lemon to help them from going brown. Wheel- and Hello Kitty-shaped pasta with tomato pesto and a few cucumber "leaves".

And now I'm sitting here, happily reading through rushlight's stories while celebrating that I'm as good as done porting over my entire collection of Potterverse-renders to my new gallery. Have a look, but PLEASE observe the ratings on the pictures, if you're somewhere where looking at porn is frowned upon ;o)

Imagine that! I've reached bento # 100. And 101 as a matter of fact, but well.. 100 is some milestone, isn't it?


So what's in it?
3 onigiri, the middle one with tarako-furikake, the other two with smoked mackrel and wasabi. 3 Koala cookies, "100" made from white carrots. Cherry tomatoes, tonkatsu-sauce (in the carrot bottle) and soy in the fishie.
Tonkatsu, white carrot-stars and a single moon, lightly boiled. Edamame and another "100" this time from a plain carrot-coloured carrot.

These are all some I made today, the first one is long gone, that was my supper, the other two are what I and my kid are bringing to work/school tomorrow.
