More Harry-picspam,,,

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
As promised, here are a few extra pics of my newest doll, after I made him more convincingly into Harry. He still needs school robes, but judging from his glasses, this is some time before Hogwarts anyway ;)

So here's Harry, just Harry: )

So this silly Trekkie person got hersef YET ANOTHER doll...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
First.. if you're feeling a sense of deja vu it may just be because you've seen this on my LJ ;)

Sooooo I was checking the tracking number on my Raam, and finally it dawned on me to use the danish site instead of the Korean one, who had him still in customs. And lo and behold: He was AT OUR POSTOFFICE!
Needless to say, I rushed out of the door as soon as the ordinary mailman had been there with the customs bill. And MORE WOOT! Instead of the 7-800DKK I had been prepared to pay, he was only taxed 120DKK (less than $20!)

The explanatioin to that came when I had opicked up the parcel: The value on it was listed as "Doll, US$ 45" So yay for "cheap" dolls!

And of course there is PICTURES - right under this cut! )

Trekkie's Train Tales... A Good Night's Sleep...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Last night, I was working.

Pretty normal shift really, 8 - 3:35. Except we're talking 8 PM to 3:35 AM...

BUT.. I love working night, so IMO that's the best shift there is! People are usually very easy to handle (they're asleep, mostly) and the majority of them is on their way home from something like a night out or similar. Which means they're typically in a very genial mood.

There's just one thing.. the sleep thing...
So.. today's Train Tale: When passengers sleep a little TOO heavily )

Slytherin Sex God [Doll pics]

Sevvie got some new pants today, I'd bought them online and ... well.. they kinda sorta inspired me *eyebrow wiggle*

7 pics under the cut. Risky perhaps, but should be worksafe )

My God. It's full of stars... [NNR07 // DZ Ying) (silly doll story)

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Right.. these dolls (well in this case, mine and Big Kid's)

They have means of inspiring really really odd and random stories from time to time. I can't even blame this on drunkenness or fever, though.. yeah.. it seems like that...

On to the weird doll pics )

Severus' First Snowman (Doll spam once more)

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
OK I can't even promise to stop soon with the doll pics. Because I'm having all too much fun with Sevvie.

Last night, it snowed again *GAH just as you thought spring was coming!* so this morning, I made him a pair of (fingerless) gloves, a scarf and a hat so he could go out and play in the snow.

Later on I decided to make the pics appear like they were taken some time in his childhood. So ... yeaah well.. nuff with the talk, onto the pic:

What's that you're wearing anyway...?

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
More doll-picspam... Despite my rather obnoxious cold (oh what a lovely way to spend some days off... This was supposed to be my weekend, dammit!) I managed to sew Sevvie a blouse today. T-shirt of sorts, in an attempted early 70ies style... (poor boy!)

I blame it all on [info]kamion btw...

What's that you're wearing anyway?"

lookie here... 3 pics only )

March 23rd, 2008

Whoa.. I never knew I could sew...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
First.. Not sure if I've mentioned it.. but these Ball Joint Dolls are HIGHLY addictive. So after first Big Kid got one, and I got one, the turn now came to Little Kid (who, at 12 isn't really "little" anymore - she's taller than me...)

And well.. she got a girl-doll and...

Seriously.. I HAVE to show off...

I never counted myself among Those Who Could Sew, nor did I ever plan to enter their ranks.

But getting these BJD's - and especially getting a CUTE girly BJD (heh and yeah.. me who has never played with girlie-dolls either...) has apparently triggered some dormant gene in me because I've been sprouting out clothes for Dina (Little Kid's doll) since we got her last Wednesday.

So.. have a look under the cut at what I've made so far )

Happy Easter (Doll picspam)

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Today was the day for the traditional easter lunch at the in-laws (yes, today is a holiday, here)

And since Little Kid got her doll yesterday, AND I wanted to use the oopportunity to photograph Sevvie in different surroundings, we brought the dolls... Needless to say the rest of the family were staring at us (OK .. me!) with the "lost final marble" look...

Oh well. Their loss...

Below the cut is some of the pics that were taken. And yes, we had FUN! (even if Sevvie smashed his nose and had to get emergency nose-surgery... I'd planned to sand him down anyway.. just not with a nail file...
Pics (all 7 of them) below this cut )

Thanks to [info]majmunka, Severus now has a cauldron so he can make his beloved potions!

See the pics (only 4 this time) under the cut )

Sevvie @ Work... (Doll picspam again)

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Today I was going to meet another Doll-o-holic after work, so I figured if I had to bring Sevvie along all day, he might as well see where I worked. It was a lot more fun than just leaving him in my locker at work..

So here's Sevvie in a train :o)

Several Severus pictures under the cut )

Introducing: Sevvie, my ABJD

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
OK first of all.. This is a conglomerate of several posts made over at L***Journal. So some of you may have seen some - or all of this - before.

It also means that this post is extremely picture-heavy and will take a while to load. In the future, I promise to post Sevvie in smaller doses here ;)

And and then, just before the cut, a small explanation to those who may wonder WTF an "ABJD" is. It stands for Asian Ball Jointed Doll. Posable dolls made out of resin. As these dolls are handmade, they're priced accordingly, so at the moment I only have one *sniff-sob* (well and my daughter has one, she was the one who introduced me to this hobby...

Anyway.. off to the spam:
Click if you dare and have a good internet connection. LOADS of pics ahead... )

Wo-hoo! I've got my 15 seconds of fame now!

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I know the actual article is most likely illegible for most of you but I MUST brag for a moment:
See, I was contacted by the local newspaper here in my city today, they'd seen my bento blog (I keep a small bento blog in danish, too) and they wanted to do an article about my bentos!

And they did, and here it is:

Christmas came early...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I don't know if it's customary everywhere to get christmas presents from your workplace. I know it's a first for me (well I did get one last year as well, but except for that, this is something very new to me!)

Wanna see what I got? )

Trekkie's Train Tales: Everything that can go wrong...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Heh ok perhaps the heading is a little misleading, because things could have gotten a LOT worse than they did, but... today was definitely one of the days worth writing about :o)

In short: My train caught fire!
Longer story under the cut )

Still around.. sorta...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
OK, some people may have been wondering if I'd dropped off the face of the planet.

I haven't. But I'm so extremely stressed at the moment. Work taking time, and everything and everyone wants me to do things constantly. I have agreed to help some people and haven't been able to actually keep my promises, which has increased my stress level and made me generally miserable.

So for the time being, I'm withdrawing a little - and of all things, to the world of Pokémon, on my Gameboy. Yea. Go on. Laugh. But I'm relaxing by catching virtual monsters and I'm slowly starting to feel better. With a little luck I'll be back soon :o)

Oh and if you comment on this post, please know that I am READING the comments, and I'll try my best to answer. Just don't be alarmed if it takes a little while.

The First Week...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
So... By now I've been a train conductor for a week. And miraculously survived!

I have been sorta lucky, I started out with some easy trips and there hasn't really happened anything out of the ordinary. Yesterday was anticipated with a certain amount of trepidation, we had two major soccer games going on not too far from each other, and both with teams that were known to attract hooligans. But, while we had some of them on the train, they behaved fairly nice.
They littered to a degree where it looked like a bomb had gone off, but that was it. They didn't behave badly in any particular way, weren't violent or anything. Drunk, yes, but there's always ome drunk epople on a train, they're usually harmless, if a bit annoying.

So that went a lot better than I'd feared, and that only goes to show that the trips you fear often aren't as bad as you make them, while the ones you assume will be bland an boring are nothing of the sort *L* - The trip home yesterday was supposed to be.. well... a walkover. But for some reason, every person in northern Jutland seemed determined to flee the area by train. We had people EVERYWHERE in our poor little train *L*

And now my summer holidays has begun. Two weeks of doing as little as humanely possible! I can't WAIT!

oh hmm.. I suppose I don't have to either *LOL*

*shivers* Reality is knocking on my door...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Gah! Tomorrow is my first day as a fully trained train conductor. I've had the weekend off, and by chance, my regular days off were monday and tuesday (or.. actually they were tuesday and wednesday but I got that changed around to get a nice long weekend)

But tomorrow is the day of reality! Tomorrow I'm out in the trains with no safety net! This time, I can't excuse myself with "being in training" - this time, I'm supposed to know everything and be able to do anything. GAH!

So, to soothe my nerves, I spent some of the evening making a nice bento for the little kid.

Bento # 124
Kitty Goodness
Mini meatballs on skewers on a bed of lightly steamed
spinach with oyster sayce. Banana flowers drizzled with lemon
to help them from going brown.
Wheel- and Hello Kitty-shaped pasta with tomato pesto and a few
cucumber "leaves".

And now I'm sitting here, happily reading through [info]rushlight's stories while celebrating that I'm as good as done porting over my entire collection of Potterverse-renders to my new gallery. Have a look, but PLEASE observe the ratings on the pictures, if you're somewhere where looking at porn is frowned upon ;o)

Exam closing in on me O.o

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
OK today we had a sort of exam, a cross-subject test that in many ways counts as an exam. It went so-so at least from what I feel. Not exactely bad, but afterwards, when we got out and discussed it, I found out at least a couple of errors. Not grave errors, but bad enough to be an error in the first place.

And after lunch we had a "test exam" - a sort of rehearsal to the real and final one tomorrow. That one went ok. Not totally flawless, but absolutely good enough for me to pass (and again, the few errors I made today are then some I'm not going to make tomorrow ;o) )

And I feel fine. Calm and quite at ease. It was/is my favourite subject, the safety regulations. I love it because it's all stuff you can look up and there you have the answer, black on white, no room for (mis)interpretations. Besides, I find it exciting (yeah, dry law-speakish stuff. Very exciting... Well.. I DO! Honestly. I may not always like laws and rules and regulations, but I have a weakness for reading them and I'm usually fairly good at remembering what I've read.

So no, I'm not nervous. I'm looking forward to getting on the other side of it (and GAH! There's an oral examination afterwards, and THAT is going to take all the rest of the day... and I'm of course one of the last persons to get in (completely random, we threw all the names in a hat more or less) but it means that I'll have to wait most of the afternoon to get my result of the written exam :o(

Oh well... I've waited this long. I can wait another afternoon. But still.. booooring. It's gonna be a LONG day.

So... everybody... Tomorrow at 8:30 CET y'all better keep your fingers crossed for 1½ hour ;o)
