OMG... ANOTHER doll?!

Uhm yeah.. I've got myself another doll today. And NOT a Potter-themed one even... Well I saw this squirrel (and yes it's a squirrel and not a chipmunk, and no it's name is NOT Alvin...) and immediately when I saw it, I knew I HAD to own it - even if it's so far from my other dolls in style... and even if I until this moment couldn't see the idea in anthro-dolls at all...

So..er.. well... Without further ado.. say hello to Egon(e) - I'm not QUITE sure if it's a he or a she just yet...

Meet Egon, my newest doll <3
(his name, Egon, is a lame pun on the danish word for squirrel, Egern btw)

Hm. Lots of pink stuff.. perhaps it's a girl-squirre?


Squirrel-parts... O.o (They come with two extra sets of hands, a pair of shoe-feet and the tail, all magnetic and wonderfully easy to change)


Ah no.. definitely a male squirrel. Here's his nuts!

I knew logically that he'd be small.. but I hadn't quite fathomed HOW small.. he's TINY! But oh so cute...


When I say "tiny" I mean.. small... like a can of Pepsi...

  That is outrageously cute! You just have to post a piccy of him at Daz when he's all prettied up, he looks just like Ikyoto. Er, the mod with the Squirrel avatar.
  
  Not sure what Sevvy makes of him, though. Maybe he's wondering just who could be a squirrel animagus. :-)

    And yes he IS too cute for words really... as soon as I saw him I knew I HAD to get him, even if I'm not into anthro-dolls at all.. he was too adorable to pass on. Reminds me a little of the Sylvanian Families really.. and they're cute as well... :)

    Lessee... remind me again when you were working, ok? My holidays have started :D Monday I have an appointment at the dentist >_< but other than that there are no specific plans for next week

        BTW Kam came up with a perfect name for him/it.. so he's now officially Ratatosk Skeeter!
        
        How about next Tuesday then? Or the weekend? (since John'll be watching silly race cars going round and round and round for 24 hours that weekend -_- anyway?)
        
        Though.. Tuesday-Wednesday will perhaps be best since I guess *someone* ought to be home to feed the children while the LeMans is going on...

        *L* It's funny because this squirrel really seem to divide people into two groups.. one that goes EEK and another who goes AWWW. Obviously I fall into the latter category...
        
        Do you know what makes it "wrong"? I just want to understand what it is that makes people dislike it since I personally think it's CUTE impersonated...

          Hm. Good question... And very thought provoking. I noticed the split in comments here, too.
          
          I think it's that it's trying too hard to be cute, perhaps. That makes it too much. I'm one of those people who think animals are cute/sweet/lovely, but cute-ified animals look off and then lose their cuteness. If it had been closer to a real squirrel I probably would've aw'ed :-)

            I think I know what you mean, actually. Am I right that certain kinds of dogs are "too much", too?
            
            This squirrel reminds me of a slightly larter version of the Sylvanian Families figures. And I've always found those to be totally adorable. I guess yuo don't really like them either? :)
            
            It's really interesting, this. When does it become "too much"? and such :)

              Hm. Some dogs are just ugly *G* Not sure that's what you mean, though.
              
              I liked the Sylvanian family things when I was a kid. I guess it was different then. It also helped that they had colours and "fur".
              
              It is very interesting! Taste usually is.

                I was thinking along the lines of the breeds, like pugs, that are bred to trigger all the "oooh a baby!" responses in a human, even after they're no longer puppies.
                
                I'm torn.. much to my annoyance I actually like chihuahuas and most other small dogs. I guess it's because they're cat-sized ;) I like lapdogs - not that I want the bother of a dog, but still...
                
                And yeah taste is something you can discuss for hours.. but rarely change your initial ideas about :)
