The Anxiously Awaited Arrival of Alan Rickman! [Minimee Doll]

Previous Entry Add to Memories Tell a Friend Next Entry

OK. I'm in love with a resin head! After some confusion at the post office (the idiots had delivered the parcel not on our own post office but one a few miles further away... - luckily I had sent hubby on the Pick-Up task, while I was at work, and he wouldn't risk coming home without my head two days in a row!

Ooh the box! Opened by the greedy customs, who ended up charging me $73!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! extra - for a $95 head! *GRRRR*

And inside the box a lovely letter from ARoseFormo who did a great job at running the Group Order! - oh and a box with a bubble wrapped head.

The head, still in the bubble wrap. Yes it's a little blurry.. I was not in a patient mood, I just wanted to rip it open and look at Alan, ok?

Sevvie looking at his new rival (Alan will most likely take over Sevvie's body, at least for now, if I manage to blush him enough)

Sevvie and Harry. Notice the actually fairly good resin match between the D&D doll and the Minimee head.

Closeup with a weird wig and some teal eyes. Of course I know Alan doesn't have teal eyes but these were the only on in the right size I had. They're temporary, as is the wig! Taken in natural light, no flash.

More closeup. Without flash again.

Teh Profile, in case anyone is interested. Ooooh that nose!
  • The NOSE!!!!

    Excellent doll!
    • Yea the nose is very very close to being spot on! I love his profile. I'm considering sanding a tiny bit on the sides, since.. well Alan has this kinda squarish bit on the bridge of his nose and while it is hinted on the doll it's not as prominent as the Real Thing. And it's one of the things I'm really in love with in regards to His nose. So I'll see if it's possible to get it to stand out just a LITTLE more. I many also attempt to open his (right) eye just a tad more. Thing is.. I am not sure I DARE take a piece of sandpaper to His Perfecion ;)
  • He does have a most excellent profile. With different eyes and hair-wow!
    • oh yes he SO needs His own eyes. Ald as luck would have it, the package with them has arrived in Denmark (though not at my place, since it's aprt of a Group Order so I'll have to wait until it's sorted and sent out to all of us. But sometimes in the coming week, I hope to have Alan's Eyes :)

The wig will probably take a little longer, that is also part of a Group Order (to save shipping ect) and THAT package hasn't been shipped yet -_-

But the profile is delicious. I might as well admit I'm just sitting here with the head in my hand, admiring it! (who wouldn't?)
  • Oh, niiice! That's going to look good!

And Tuesday? Like mushrooms ala creme and hasselbach potatoes? And some meat of a kind, of course?
    • *drools @ the menu*

      Sounds awesome! I'll bring wine!

If it's not raining Monday, I'll give Alan a faceup then. And bring him of course (with or without faceup) - if it's raining I think I'll bring all the remedies, and do the faceup at your place (I promise it's nothing messy. Poisonous, but not messy ;) )

Remember to send me the map! You know me and getting lost >_Ø
      • I look forward to seeing him - and also how the faceup is done.

Yay, and we'll have some disgustingly delicious dessert. Banana something?
        • Banana[anything]is great. I love bananas!

Hm Perhaps I should just hold off with the faceup and do it at your place. You could help - you're a better painter than me anyway
          • Banana fried in honey and butter with honey-roasted almonds and hazelnuts, Ice cream and chocolate sauce?

Anything you like, hon. Faceup, no faceup...

And I'll send the map, so you don't get lost. ♥
            • *is drooling uncontrollably*

It could be kind of fun to do the faceup at your place. How high up do you live? (the base coat/top coat spray thing is highly toxic and must be done outside, the actual painting is done with watercolour and soft pastel so that's not toxic at all - but it's best if it's fairly easy to get outside)

              (I hope it's not on the 15th floor. I don't do elevators...)
              • 5th. And you can just step out on the balcony. Otherwise it might be clever to go downstairs as not to poison the neighbours if their windows are open.
                • Oh a balcony. That'll work.

I dont think it will poison the neighbours unless I spray it in their windows directly. Aerosols dilute pretty quickly after all, it's just it's best to wear a mask when doing the spritzing.

So I'll be seeing you then! (if I do get the map... )
  • Gorgeous! *dedwithenvy*
